Tom Lawrence, popular anchor at KSHB for three years and then at WDAF-Fox 4 for eight years, is now co-hosting a Sunday morning radio show called the ?KC Winter Sports Show? on KCSP-610 a.m. from 8-9 a.m.
Lawrence, whose TV career spanned about 40 years in San Diego, Los Angeles, Columbus and KC, is currently a ski instructor at Beaver Creek Ski Resort in Colorado. The resort is owned by Vail and about 10 miles away in Beaver Creek, CO.
He has been an avid skier since college and is currently in his second year as an instructor at Beaver Creek during the five-month season teaching children between 7-14.
?I started skiing?as a freshman in college and have had a passion for it my whole life,? he told Bottom Line.??We get?skiers from around the world and quite a few from the Kansas City area.?
The Sunday show is sponsored by Sitzmark Travel and covers a wide range of topics about winter sports activities from hockey to skiing.? Gary Cashion is the show?s co-host.
Lawrence still gets familiar looks by many area people when they see him at Beaver Creek.
